Explorers 5 nights – $515, $540, $590 6th to 8th grade completed
The Explorers meet middle school children as they begin to test themselves individually and in community. Multiple days camping take their skills to a higher level as they learn to live in the outdoors with a group of friends. High ropes, whitewater paddling on the Nantahala River, and canoeing on Lake Jocassee make this camp memorable. Christian stewardship of the land, “no trace” camping and learning to work as a team in a new setting are all themes that help campers practice sensitivity, responsibility, empathy and positive self-esteem.

We will also learn about Christian stewardship of the land, “no trace” camping and learning to work as a team in a new setting. These are all themes that help campers practice sensitivity, responsibility, empathy and positive self-esteem. Offered July 17-29.
Middle School Mission 5 nights – $275, $300, $325 6th to 8th grade completed
This summer we are designing an amazing week just for Middle School students. Get ready for week of service that is meaningful, memorable and fun. Our counselors and staff will guide the group as they build friendships with other participants and work with skilled technical staff to oversee the projects done on site and in the local community. Each participant will have a chance to explore the underlying lessons of what it means to serve and love others as Christ has loved us.
Counselor In Training (CIT) 5 nights – $275, $300, $350 10th – 12th completed
The CIT experience gives high school students an opportunity to begin the training process for becoming a camp counselor at Buc. We have a week at the beginning of the summer where CITs come in and do some training and fun camp activities. A CIT will be asked to come back during the summer, and will work closely with one or two groups of children under the supervision of a counselor and coordinator to reflect on the work at hand and see how it fits in their faith development. CIT training requires being flexible, open-minded, compassionate, sensitive to young children’s needs, and hard working.
Cave and Wave 5 nights – $560, $585, $630 6-8th grade completed
This adventure program gives the campers the experience to be above and below ground. Campers will experience guided exploration of Worley’s Cave, have an overnight camp, and raft down the Nolichucky River Gorge. Plus they will be able to experience all the camp offers such as crafts, ropes course, and swimming.
Rock and Raft 5 nights – $560, $585, $630 6-8th grade completed
Spend a day on the Ropes Courses, a day rock climbing, and a day rafting on the Nanahala with an overnight camping excursion. This week included the adventure of climbing with the thrill of whitewater rafting in a week of physical challenge, spiritual growth, and Christian community.
Registration questions should be addressed to LeAnne White at 864-288-5774, Mon-Thur. 9am-2pm. [email protected].
TIERED PRICING FOR SUMMER CAMP
WHY THREE PRICES? In all of our printed and online media, you will see three prices listed for most camp programs. Camp Buc’s voluntary tiered pricing structure is intended to help families recognize how much a week at camp really costs and then select the level of payment most appropriate for their circumstances.
This gives you the ability to choose the tier that is most affordable for your family. No matter which price is selected, all campers receive the same camp experience. In the past, Camp Buc has always offered a subsidized rate, which is lower than the actual cost associated with running summer camp. We have been able to do this due to the funding we receive from the Foothills Presbytery, individuals, organizations, and churches committed to the Camp Buc ministry and the impact it has on the lives of countless children, youth, and families.
Our goal in introducing tiered pricing is simple: we want to continue to provide a safe, active, and inclusive Christian community for all who attend, while offering opportunities for partnership for those who value this ministry and whish to help preserve Camp Buc for generations to come. Tiered pricing offers the opportunity for you to take an active role in supporting more closely the true cost of the camp experience if your financial situation allows.
TIER I is Camp Buc’s historically subsidized rate and does not reflect the full per-camper cost associated with providing summer camp programs.
TIER II is a midpoint between the historically published camper rate and the full cost of providing a program for each camper.
TIER III closely accounts for the full cost of providing Camp Buc’s summer camp programs for each camper.
